| It wasn't until 2007 they decided to insulate the roof from outside the rafters. They had found a system for installing five inch thick foam above the sheathing. No one in the valley had used this method yet. To start on the roof part of the project while they waited for an artisan to install it and the slate, they decided to put the roof sheathing on and cover it with felt paper and plastic tarps while waiting for the subsequent work. Staining the underside of the sheathing white gave them the look they wanted. | ||||||||
