| In the summer of 2008 we continued working on the roof, having decided the leaks in the slate roof could not be patched any more and it was time to get the slates off, a sub-roof laid and the entire roof covered in preparation for insulating and installing the new slate. We had requested the local roofer to start as soon as possible, and he had promised to start in the fall of 2006, 2007, and 2008. That is the reason we did the preliminary work ourselves.
