| This 2007 photo shows the structure of the roof skeleton. Rafters have lath across them onto which the slates were nailed in the old days. Now slates are attached to the lath with wire hooks. The outside wall, after tapering inward from the ground level it is still nearly two feet thick at the top. In the lower left of the picture is an example of the 1 x 6 boards we used as the sub-roof. | ||||||||
