First we set new joists, hung on headers attached to the truss chords on the outside end and set on the top of the wall in the middle of the space.

At the left end of the section is the opening where the old chimney came through the Loft from the Upper East Side bedroom.

New ribs were laid across the old joists and the original floor in the center section. This left a two inch space for the electrical wiring.
